Abstract

A printing plate (10) washing machine (3), especially for soft rubber printing plates, is fed by an overhead conveyor (1) and comprises a pre-soaking section (5), a washing section (7) and a drying section (9). The washing section (7) have several rows (23,27,28,29) of end-face brushes (24,31) rotating about horizontal axes. One row (28) has oscillation rotation of elongated brushes (31) about a middle position, thereby utilizing brush hair pressure at the point of reversion of movement for penetrating into corners or intricate details of the profile of the printing plate. According to the invention time-consuming manual work with cleaning the printing plates (10) is avoided. <IMAGE>
