Abstract

The system has a part (1,9) which sends information to a screen (6). The displayed information is read (11) and compared (10) with the sent information. The display operation is interrupted if the displayed and sent information do not concur. The screen is the active portion only of a flat transparent display with an active surface having electronic control. The reader is an optical sensor which is positioned at the back of the screen in relation to the observer (12) and consists of a linear charge transfer detector connected to the rear face of the screen by an optical fibre network. The information fed to the screen passes along two separate channels (3,4), one passing through the screen's video input (5) and the other through the comparison unit.
