Abstract

A battery-light system and a lamp unit therefor. A battery light has a light body (1) in which batteries (7) are provided. A lamp unit (21) equipped with a pendulum balancing weight (45) is freely introduced through the open end (2) of the light body and placed on diametrically-opposed, recessed lamp current-supply plates (11, 12). The connecting wires (51, 52) of the incandescent lamp (41) belonging to the lamp unit (21) extend downwards on the frame element of the lamp unit to laterally-projecting, rigid suspension arms (58, 59), the contact elements of the lamp unit cooperating with the plates (11, 12). As a rigid coherent unit, the lamp unit (21) may pivot about a mounting axis defined by the contact points on the plates (11, 12). When the batteries are to be charged, the lamp unit (21) is removed, and the light body (1) is placed upside-down in a charger, the plates (11, 12) being in contact with charging electrodes.
