Abstract

The safety hook comprises the hook itself (3) on a fastening strap (2) which is screwed to one surface of the rafter (4), and a plate (11) which is attached to another surface. The base of the hook or its zone adjacent to the fastening strap has at least one aperture (6,14) which acts as an anchoring point, e.g. for a harness and exerts a lengthwise rather than a transverse force on it in the event of a fall. The hook is preferably of metal, has a rectangular cross-section and is joined to the strap by welding.
