Abstract

An electrical plug-connector in which the plug housing (2) is shaped for receiving the pug contact housings (4) which each receive plug contact elements and are locked into the plug housing (2). The plug housing (2) have several receiving bays (3) arranged adjacent to one another and have receiving openings (5) at the front face of the plug housing (2). The rear wall (10) of the plug housing (2), on the one side, and the rear wall of each plug-contact housing (4), on the other side, has coding elements (27,31) for providing coding between the bays (3) of the plug housing (2). The depth and/or height dimensions of the coding elements are selected so that the latching of plug contact housing (4) in a receiving bay (3) is only possible when the coding of the receiving bay (3) is in agreement with the coding of the plug- contact housing (4) being received therein.
