Abstract
The drilling machine is fitted with detectors which measure dynamic characteristics of the drill tool. The measurements at different successive depths are stored and used to calculate a succession of variable representative of terrain quality at each depth. When a succession of values which correspond to a acceptable terrain quality is encountered, drilling is stopped.
