The invention concerns a furniture item (1) consisting of two vertical side members (2), a seat (3) and a back (4) fitting into one another, characterised in that each vertical side member (2) comprises at least a slot (5) and at least a notch (6), the seat (3) comprises at least two projections (7) each provided with a pin (7'), located at the lateral ends of said seat (3) and designed to be urged to fit into the slots (5) of the vertical side members (2) and at least a slot (8) and the back (4) comprises at least a projection (9) designed to be urged into the slot (8) of the seat (3) and at least two pins (10) designed to co-operate with the notches (6) of the vertical side members (2).
