Abstract
1. Process for the currentless deposition of metal layers of metals of Groups Ib, IIb, IVb, Vb and VIII of the Periodic System on to appropriate more electronegative metals by contacting the object to be coated with a non-aqueous coating bath which contains a metal complex which is obtained by reaction of a corresponding di- or trivalent metal chloride with the hydrochloride of a base which is capable of complex formation with the metal or with the free base and hydrochloric acid.
