Abstract

1. Use of monoaxially stretched tapes of polypropylene-ethylene copolymers having an ethylene content of at most 30% by weight, which are covered at the surface with low density polyethylene which may contain up to 10% by weight of copolymerized higher alpha-olefins, or with a copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate, the tapes being covered on one side with the polyethylene layer in a thickness such that the base layer of the propylene polymer accounts for at least 70% by volume of the tape, for the manufacture of flexible, non-fibrillating, woven or knitted fabrics, in which the tapes are movable relative to one another.
