Abstract

The pivot comprises a spring device (16) which is provided as an aid to pivoting of a roof window having a frame (2) for mounting and a movable casement frame (3). One end of the device (21) cooperates with the main frame while the other end (32) can pivot on the casement frame, which is pivotably supported on auxiliary frame sections (10). Preferably, the spring device is a telescopic spring member (18) operating axially and its first end fits in a socket (26) within the main frame, the first end lifting out of the frame socket when the casement frame is swung around a large angle. The spring is preferably in the form of a pressurised gas spring.
