Abstract

The invention relates to a bed which is equipped with a back elevator (20) that can pivot between a horizontal position and a series of elevated inclined positions, while simultaneously moving in translation towards the head or foot of the bed. The inventive bed is characterised in that it comprises a connecting link (4, 4'), one end of which (41, 41') is fitted with teeth (44) which can engage with a series of openings (203) provided on the lower surface (201) of said back elevator (20) in such a way as to slide the back elevator in relation to a reclinable part (11) of the bed frame. The inventive bed is provided with a simple structure and is suitable for hospital beds.
