Abstract

Drive unit for a weaving loom which comprises a main shaft (21) operating the essential weaving devices (27) of the loom, a driven shaft (25) operating a weave machine (26), and a single electric motor (20) for loom operation. The electric motor (20) is connected to said main shaft (21) through a first synchronous gearing comprising a disengageable clutch (28), and to said driven shaft (25) through a second synchronous gearing in constant mesh. Detection (29a, 29b, 29c, 32) and control (30, 31) devices are provided to allow engaging said clutch (28) in any preset angular position. <IMAGE>
