Abstract

The assembly comprises a cable with a bundle of conductors (18) surrounded by a screen (16) and terminated by a connector (22) portion with multiple contacts (24). The rear portion (26) of the connector, which makes contact with the screen, can slide along the cable to be engaged or disengaged with the connector portion. The cable screen incorporates a shield (28) which extends within the connector rear portion and a retractable sleeve (32) which surrounds the shield over part of its length, making electrical contact with the rear of the connector and the shield at its opposite ends.
