Abstract

1. Porous head for a gas injection lance for stirring a metal contained in a casting ladle, comprising a body (1) made of a hollow porous brick (3) surrounded by an enclosure (4) of refractory material, the enclosure having a plurality of apertures therethrough and having a bushing for allowing the inner cavity of the hollow brick to be in communication with the lance tube to the end of which the head is attached, characterized in that the enclosure (4) has a parallelepipedical shape having each face with two apertures (11) therethrough and having a face traversed by the bushing (8).
