Abstract
1. Single-acting pneumatic cylinder with spring reset, with a piston (3) which is guided and sealed in the housing (1), said piston (3), together with the housing (1) constiting a primary chamber (13), being capable of being pressurized with compressed air, and a secondary chamber (19), communicating with the atmosphere by means of a one-way valve arrangement, the piston (3) being displaceable on the piston rod (5) between two stops (15, 16), situated on the latter, and an annular gap (23) being provided between the piston (3) and the piston rod (5), connecting the primary chamber (13) with the secondary chamber (19), such that a valve means (11, 17), provided at the piston (3) releases the annular gap (23), while the pneumatic cylinder is in its rest position, the piston (3) being applied to one stop (16), and shuts off the annular gap (23), when the primary chamber (13) is pressurized, with the consequent displacement of the piston (3) against the force of the return spring (7) toward the other stop (15), wherein the valve means consists of sealing ring (11) situated in the piston rod passage of the piston (3) and a recess (17) in the piston rod (5), the sealing ring (11), while the pneumatic cylinder is in its rest pisition, being flush with the recess (17), thus releasing the communication between the primary chamber (13) and the secondary chamber (19) and producing sealing effect in conjunction with the piston rod (5), when the piston (3) is displaced on the latter.
