Abstract

A carbon brush (12) is retained in a vertical position in a holder and a pad (16) is coated with an impregnating material that is transferred to the surface of the brush. The pad collects the impregnating material from a tray (18). The pad is mounted on a vertical slide (14) and this moves horizontally on a cross slide.
