Abstract

This invention relates to vertical fencing, and in particular to self-adjusting vertical tube fencing. According to the invention there is provided a rail (74) for use in self-adjusting vertical tube fencing, comprising an elongated channel with a top wall and two side walls, each of the side walls being of substantial U-section with an outer part connected to the top wall and an inner inturned part (76), the top wall having an aperture (88) through which a tubular fence member (20) may be fitted, the inturned parts each having a notch (78) which can accommodate a fixed peg carried by the fence member, the inturned parts also having an extension (80) adjacent the notch, the extension being provided to permit rotation of the fence member during assembly so that the peg can engage the notch. There is also provided a method of assembling a vertical fence including the step of rotating the fence member about its longitudinal axis to locate it relative to the rail. <IMAGE>
