Abstract

Anion-exchange resin (A) made by polymerization of at least one specific acrylic acid derivative (I) and at least one specific crosslinker (III) is new. Anion-exchange resin (A) made by polymerization of at least one specific acrylic acid derivative of formula (I) and at least one specific crosslinker of formula (III) is new. (I) and (III) are of formulae CH 2=CR 1>-CO-X-Y-NR 2>R 3> (I) CH 2=CR 5>CO-Q 1-Z-Q 2-CO-CR 6>=CH 2 (III) R 1>, R 5> and R 6>hydrogen, Me or Et; R 2> and R 3>hydrogen or 1-3C (hydroxy)alkyl; X : oxygen, NH or NR 4>; R 4>1-3C alkyl; Y : (CH 2) m-(CH 2O) n; m and n : 0-6, but not both 0, and one or two hydrogen of Y may be replaced by 1-3C alkyl or the group CH 2=R' 1>-CO-X'-; R' 1>hydrogen, Me or Et; X' : oxygen or NH; Q 1 and Q 2oxygen or NH; Z : [(CH 2) o-O] p-(CH 2) q; o, p and q : 0-3, but not all 0; at least one hydrogen in Z may be replaced by 1-3C alkyl or [(CH 2) r-O] s-(CH 2) t-NR 8>R 9>; r, s and t : 0-6, but not all zero; and R 8> and R 9>hydrogen or 1-3C (hydroxy)alkyl. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) kit for isolation and/or purification of high molecular weight nucleic acid comprising (A); (b) pharmaceutical, diagnostic or research composition containing (A); and (c) method for preparing (A).
