Abstract

A heating unit for heating and warming water, comprises a storage vessel for heat storing fluid (14), a boiler which dips into the storage vessel and which contains a burner (18) for producing combustion gases, and a primary heat exchanger (20) for warming water using the gases. A further heat exchanger is used to warm the heat storage fluid. A warm water heat exchanger is used to warm usable water by heat removal from the storage fluid.
