Abstract

1. A vacuum cleaner having, on a movable carriage (1), a fixed blower unit (2) and a separate dismountable dirt collecting container (6) with, concentric to its middle axis, an outer recess (7) open at the bottom, which serves, when the dirt collecting container (6) is mounted on the carriage (10), to receive the blower unit (2), said container (6) also having a tubular suction opening (9) which extends from the outer recess (7) to its upper boundary edge, characterized in that a tubular projection (5) is provided on the housing (3) of the blower unit (2) which can be inserted into the suction opening (9) of the dirt collecting container (6) with substantially no play, so that the dirt collecting container (6) is seated on the blower unit housing (3) with the upper boundary wall (8) of its outer recess (7), the dimensions of which match those of the unit housing (3).
