Abstract

The window or glass door securement mechanism has a lengthways sliding rod (7) with a catch (4) driven by the rod which can move from an opening to a closing position. The catch is pushed into a window jamb (5) positioned opposite it for closure. A pivoted lever (9,10) is hinged on the catch but is positioned away from the catch itself and is instead coupled to the connecting rod which drives it. The catch has a housing (11) for the lever, and the sleeve rail (6) which secures it to the frame (2) has a corresponding housing for the lever too. The catch has a bolt (14) which is pushed into a recess (12,13) in the connecting rod.
