Abstract

The assembly for the treatment of loose materials, e.g. foodstuffs and especially fodder, has a carrier cage (8) within the container (2) with at least one carrier (8a,8b) rotating around the container axis (2c). A drive (11) rotates the carrier cage so that at least one carrier moves along a section of the container inner wall (2d), to move the material towards the ejection zone (12) and give a material shower (10) from the ejection zone. The material feed (5) has its outflow opening (5a) under the material shower, and the inflow opening (6a) of the material take-off (6) is over the shower. The process air flows through the shower of loose material, and steam can be delivered to the material feed unit.
