Abstract

1. Drying apparatus for ladles with a cover (3) as a preferably gastight attachment for a casting ladle (1), a burner (7) disposed on the cover (3) and having a fuel supply and a combustion air supply, at least one exhaust gas outlet (10) on the cover (3), and with an exhaust gas-combustion air heat exchanger (12), characterized in that the heat exchanger (12) is disposed on the upper side of the cover (3) and consists of a U-shaped exhaust gas duct (11) which is connected to the exhaust gas outlet (10) of the cover (3) and through which a plurality of tubes (15) for the combustion air is guided, the burner (7) with the fuel supply and combustion air supply (8) being disposed between the arms of the U-shape.
