Abstract
Wind speed measurement device has a housing (1) containing a sampling device (5) and evaluation device (6). The sampling device detects rotation of the anemometer rotor axle (2) caused by the wind. The evaluation device is configured to detect rotation of the axle in a direction other than a predefined direction. If such a rotational movement is detected, then the output of wind speed measurement signals is blocked until the evaluation device detects a multiplicity of rotation direction signals in the correct predefined direction.
