Abstract
The method involves expanding a mat (16) between the catalyst support (12) and a catalyst casing (14), by heating. An electric current is used to generate the heat to expand the mat. The heating may be carried out inductively, using an induction oven, or directly, by passing electric current (I) through a part of the catalyst casing. Preferably, the current is passed before inserting the catalyst casing in the exhaust channel. An Independent claim is included for an arrangement for implementing the method.
