Abstract

1. A heat insulating structural member which is positioned between a building part (2) projecting from a building (1), and the building (1), and which comprises an elongated insulation body (3) of thermally insulating material and including reinforcing elements which extend substantially transversely of the insulation body (3) and protrude laterally from the latter, which insulation body has integrated therein one or more pressure or compression elements of a compression-resistant material for transmitting compressive forces, said compression members comprising at least one rod (5 ; 9) having the longitudinal direction thereof positioned transversely of the insulation body, characterized in that the rod, owing to its slender shape, is capable of elastically or resiliently following temperature induced longitudinal movements of the projecting building part (2) relative to the building (1), and that the ends of the rod extend in their longitudinal direction beyond the insulation body (3) into the building (1) and into the projecting building part (2), respectively.
