Abstract

Rod-shaped tooth-cutting tool (10) has provision for fitting it onto the slide of a machine tool. It has a rectangular cross-section together with teeth (12,14) on opposite sides. On its other opposite sides, it has devices for fitting it into the machine tool, which comprises two opposingly directed locating surfaces for positioning on parallel spaced bearing surfaces of a clamping device. The clamping device has components with which the locating surfaces are pressed against the bearing surfaces. The tool on opposing sides has two parallel spaced strips (20,22) which extend over its entire length and have facing clamping surfaces.
