Abstract

The delivery roller (2) of a drafting system has two nip rollers (3, 4), with the space between the nip points (5, 6) acting as compaction zone (15) by means of a guide (17) with V-shaped walls to form a groove. The guide is held by a stem (21) joined to supports (19) resting on the delivery roller (2). Two sets of guide grooves in series can be used. The sliver (13) makes an angle of wrap of about 180 [deg] on the roller (2). An apron can be used between the rollers (3, 4) within the compacting zone but without touching at the nip points (5, 6).
