Abstract
Laser coating a surface comprises melting base material of surface using laser beam to form melt bath, and inserting alloy powder into bath. The bath is formed and/or components of the alloy powder are selected so that at least one of the components is not or partially melted in the bath. The components are completely or partially embedded in the solid aggregate state in base material of surface.
