Abstract

The heat-resistant protective segments (13) are formed by hollow single-piece angled bodies with hollow axial arms (15) which are mounted on support arms (14) protruding from the trailing edge of the discharge end. Cooling air (21) can flow through the arms and also through hollow noses (18) protruding inwards in the radial direction from the segment bodies. An outer tube (12) extends concentrically to and at a distance from the furnace mantle tube (10) to form a double mantle which is enclosed by heat-resistant protective segments. The noses protruding from the inner sides of the segments support the fireproof cladding. Cooling air is blown into the space inside the double mantle.
