Abstract

Disclosed is a writing utensil comprising a reservoir (40) and an applicator (46, 112) that is provided with a fixing part (12, 14, 116) within which the reservoir is slidably disposed. The applicator protrudes from the fixing part in an advanced position while being located inside the fixing part in a retracted position. The inventive writing utensil further comprises a positioning device (28, 144) that holds the reservoir in the advanced position and moves said reservoir back into the retracted position, and a sealing element which is provided with a cylindrical body (48, 150) encompassing a pivotable cap (50, 152). The body of the sealing element is slidably mounted within the fixing part while the cap is laterally hinged to the sealing element. Said sealing element cooperates with a spring element (52, 126, 198) which is placed inside the fixing part and biases the cap into a closed position on the body in the retracted position of the reservoir.
