Abstract

A suspendable ceiling island system (1), comprising a frame (2) comprising a plurality of frame members (10) and at least one runner (3, 13, 4) for forming a grid within the frame (2) for receiving at least one ceiling tile (9), the frame member (10) comprising a longitudinally extending first upright web (26) with a first profile flange (27) which extends in longitudinal direction of the first upright web (26) and points away from the first upright web (26) from a first longitudinal side (37) of the first upright web (26), wherein the at least one runner (3, 13, 4) is attached to the frame (2) by means of at least one attachment member (5, 15) mounted to an end part (6) of the runner (3, 13, 4), the at least one runner (3, 13, 4) comprising a second upright longitudinal web (11, 12) and at least a first longitudinal flange (7, 8) pointing away from a lower part of the second upright web (11, 12) in a direction perpendicular to the second upright web (11, 12), a top face (35) of the attachment member (5, 15) adjacent to the first profile flange (27) comprising a first connection member (23) extending away from the attachment member (5, 15) to engage a corresponding second connection member (24) on the frame member (10) in a resilient connection.
