Abstract
The invention relates to a continuous casting plant for optionally casting a large metal billet or a maximum of two narrower metal billets. Said continuous casting plant comprises at least one distribution vessel, a permanent mold that is supported on an oscillating mechanism, and a billet guide which is mounted downstream thereof. In order to be able to individually cast both a large billet and two metal billets that are narrower than said large one, the continuous casting plant encompasses a chamber (25) for optionally accommodating one (5) or two permanent molds (5a, 5b) while two oscillating mechanisms (7a, 7b) and two billet guides (8a, 8b) with associated drive units (41) for separately and synchronously operating the oscillating mechanism and the billet guide are provided.
