Abstract

A papermaking machine with moving parts has a swivel-mounted (11) drum or roller (2) with a functional member (3) e.g. scraper blade. A protective curved screen panel (5) is located in the gap (Z) between the roller (2) and neighbouring machine (1) parts. The screen follows the drum or roller swivel motion. The screen is located in a position from which moving parts are otherwise accessible from a maintenance catwalk (4). The screen is attached to the drum or roller ends (7).
