Abstract

The unit (1), assembled of several clamping segments (4) divided into pairs supported against a conical area (6) in order to be radial adjusted comprises a conical component (5) divided horizontally into an inner (10) and an outer ring-shaped piston (11). The inner ring (10) and the outer ring (11) are positioned at opposite sides of the clamping piston (7). By a continuos adjustment of the clamping piston (7) a swingle tree system is applied because the clamping segments (4) touching the work piece prevent a further motion of the ring pistons (10, 11). The complementary segments (4) are pushed against the lateral area of the work piece.
