Abstract

The lift cabin moves along guide rails (3) through a counterweight (5) driven by a drive (7) comprising a motor (8), drive pulley (9) for the support cables (6), and brake (10). The axial length of the drive is greater than its diameter and the motor and drive pulley are arranged coaxial with each other. The supporting steel wire cables have a nominal diameter of about 8 mm or less and the diameter of the drive pulley is about 32 cm. The axial length of the drive pulley can be sufficient to house at least five support cables axially side by side.
