Abstract
The invention relates to a method and a device for removing a hard material layer system from tools or components. In order to improve said removal method, at least one layer containing chromium and aluminium is directly applied to the workpiece, and the coating of the workpiece is removed by means of an alkali solution containing a strong oxidant.
