Abstract

In a process to regulate thread tension in a textile machine, the thread (9) is drawn (5) from a supply (2) and paid out through a sliding guide (12). The tension in the thread is monitored and used as a speed regulation parameter. The monitor distinguishes especially between changes in thread tension arising from periodic causes and random causes and regulates thread speed accordingly. <??>The thread speed changes arising from periodic variations are increased or decreased in accordance with the current position of the thread pay-out sliding guide (12). The feed-speed is adjusted to maintain a constant speed through the guide (12) center point. Thread is drawn from a bobbin (3) by a motor (4) driven wheel (5) and passes via a tension sensor (6) to the pay-out guide (12). The motor compensates for the changes in tension arising from both periodic and random causes with a two-stage regulation system. Also claimed is a commensurate assembly.
