Abstract

The device consists of a base element (10) fastened to a working surface by a vacuum clamping device (19). The base element contains a piston unit (13), with one part projecting over the top of the base element when fitted. The part carries a clamping claw (20) for work pieces. The underside of the piston unit, and the side walls and base (17) of the base element define a hollow chamber (11), which may be evacuated. The clamping claw has two clamping arms (22,23) of different lengths, and an elastic coating (21) on the underside.
