Abstract
The device has an external buffer plate (6) adjustably arranged in a piston-like manner for absorbing an impact over a buffer pipe (4) with a damping element in a fixed admission pipe. A mandrel (9) is arranged in and/or at a buffer (1) and a passage (8) in the buffer plate is assigned to the mandrel. The mandrel is arranged outside the exterior surface of the buffer plate in a normal mode during the spring compression of the buffer pipe. The mandrel protrudes from the exterior surface of the buffer plate over the passage during displacement of the buffer pipe in the event of crash.
