Abstract

Disclosed is a housing for a household appliance, comprising a carcass (1) and a cover (2) that can be mounted on an opening of the carcass (1) by having a first locking surface (6) of the cover (2) latch onto a second locking surface (4) of the carcass (1). The cover (2) or the carcass (1) has a recess (8) while the other has a projection (10). The projection (10) and the recess (8) engage into one another so as to leave some clearance in a direction extending parallel to the locking surfaces (4; 6), said clearance being less than the size of the locking surfaces (4; 6) in said direction.
