Abstract

The invention relates to hoof protector (1) for horses and comprises a sling-like protective part (3) extending around a hoof (2), which exhibits coupling means (4) for the detachable attachment of the ends (10, 11) to the aforementioned protective part. In accordance with the invention, the protective part (3) is formed by a C-shaped cover of plastic and/or rubber material open in a downward direction (40). A number of accommodating channels (5, 51) extend along the aforementioned protective part (3) for the purpose of accommodating a wire (6, 61) therein, which wire is preferably coated with a plastic layer (7). A clamping mechanism (8) for the aforementioned number of wires (6, 61) is so arranged as to be accommodated between both ends (10, 11) of the protective part at the front of an aforementioned horse's hoof (2).
