Abstract

The method involves bringing articles (6) in contact with washing liquid (20) i.e. hot water, in a closed container (2) in order to remove impurities from a surface of the articles. Pressure in the container is lowered to a value of less than 600 millibar above a fluid level of the washing liquid, where the articles are covered by the washing liquid in the container, and alternatively increased when the pre-determined low pressure is reached in the container or when no pressure reduction is observed in the container. An air is sucked off with a vacuum pump (14).
