Abstract

The device (10) has a deformable insulating support (16) provided with a periphery and two plane end faces (18, 18') that are superimposed at linking surfaces (38, 38') of shielded terminals (30, 30') when the support is deformed by compression between the faces. A conductive electrostatic shielding coating e.g. paint, is provided on the periphery of the support. A cylindrical conductive rod (12) is integrated in the support and opened on the faces at the level of connection pads (14, 14'), where the pads are inscribed in connection surfaces (34, 34') of the terminals. The coating is constituted by over-molding of an insulating elastomer same as that of the support. The support is also made of compressible insulating foam. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a connector comprising two terminals (2) a method for electrically connecting two terminals.
