Abstract
The invention relates to an energy absorption device (10) comprising a front impact beam (20), a back beam (40) and one or more energy absorbing elements (60), arranged between the front impact beam and the back beam, wherein the energy absorption device (10) comprises one or more sliding beams (30) that are rigidly connected to the front impact beam, the back beam having one or more openings (50), through which the one or more sliding beams (30) are fed, the openings guiding and limiting movement of sliding beams essentially to a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the sliding beams, and , wherein the energy absorbing elements (60) are arranged essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of sliding beams. In another aspect of the invention there is provided a vehicle, in particular a track-bound vehicle comprising an energy absorption device (10) according to the invention, in particular a vehicle wherein the device is integrated in the structural frame of the front cabin of the vehicle.
