Abstract

The vegetable (G), which can be a carrot or a stalk of celery, is moved by a pushing element (7) along a guide with a v-shaped cross section (9) to a cutting blade (10) for the removal of a front segment. The position is detected by a sensor. When the sensor recognizes the rear end of the vegetable another cut is made.
