Abstract

The device has a rechargeable energy storage (35) e.g. super capacitor, battery and accumulator, for supplying energy to a drive motor (30) i.e. direct current (DC) motor. A direction of an energy flow to and/or from the energy storage to the drive motor is controlled by switches (K1-K4) of a control module, and a sensor. The energy storage is charged by an external voltage feed i.e. DC-safety extra-low voltage. The switches are actuated by remote controls (51-53). The sensor is provided for detecting a position of a barrier arm. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling and/or surveillance of a barrier system.
