Abstract

1. Electric hotplate with a plate body (1) and a cover plate (20) covering the underside thereof at least in the vicinity of a heating ring zone (5) having a heating body, said cover plate engaging on a heating ring flange (10) of the plate body (1) immediately adjacent to the inner circumference of the heating ring zone (5) and separating the same from a heating body-free central zone (3) and is fixed to the plate body (1) by a fastening member (23), e.g. having a screw coupling, whilst in the vicinity of the central zone (3) is provided on the underside of the plate body (1) a receptacle (18) on a central boss (16) projecting over the underside of the central zone for engagement of a threaded clamping member to be inserted on fastening the hotplate to a hob or the like, characterized in that the cover plate (20) is fixed by at least two, spaced fastening members (23) engaging directly on the inner heating ring flange (10) and that the receptacle (18) for the clamping member is free when the fastening members (23) are inserted.
