Abstract

1. Shredder comprising two rotating shafts (5, 6) substantially horizontal and parallel, off-set vertically and horizontally with respect to each other, equipped with protruding shredding organs (11) and arranged in a chamber (2) in which materials to be shredded are introduced from above and are guided so as to pass between the two rotating shafts (5, 6), said chamber (2) including a wall (16) for guiding the materials to be shredded which is nearer the lower shaft (6) than the upper shaft (5) and which comprises an opening blocked by at least one mobile shutter (20, 21) reaching substantially over the whole length of the wall, characterised in that the guiding wall comprises a sliding shutter (20), positioned opposite the lower shaft (6) and sliding following the trajectory of the arc of a circle which is concentric with this shaft, this shutter comprising anti-blocking baffles (22) between which pass the shredding organs (11) mounted on the lower shaft.
