Electrically or electronically operated and/or controlled or driven door lock, in particular a mortise lock, for an electronic key (33) which is provided with a memory facility for key information, with a lock housing (1), a latch (3) which can be operated at least from the inside of the door by means of a handle, and which engages in a facer plate, a tongue (4) which can be locked-out of the facer plate, an electrically operable locking mechanism (51) for the tongue (4), a scanning facility (31) for the key information of the electronic key (33) and a control circuit (30) which is dependent on the locking mechanism (51) and controlled by means of the scanned key information, with gearing (58, 59) which is driven by the electro motor (29) and a detent pawl (17) which can be mechanically controlled by means of the tongue (4) and the gearing, which inhibits the tongue (4) both in the position which is completely enclosed inside the lock housing (1) as well as in the position which is completely excluded from the key housing (1), axially in order to relieve the electro motor (29) whereby the latch (3) and the tongue (4) can be operated by means of the electro motor (29) to travel into the housing (1) and the tongue (4) can be operated to travel out of the housing, and that the transmission ratio between the electro motor (29) and the latch (3) on the one hand and the electro motor (29) and the tongue (4) on the other hand can be changed during the locking-in and the locking-out travel of the latch (3) and the tongue (4).
